Maurer made his debut at Alfred Stieglitz's Photo-Secession Gallery at 291 Fifth Ave, New York on March 31, 1909, sharing the stage with John Marin and getting the better of it from critics. Inscribed by the author to her book's editor and designer, Abe Lerner, and his assistant. Also, typed and signed on letterhead to 'Abe' thanking him for his "loving care in bringing the Maurer book into physical being". The letter, loosely inserted. Clean throughout; tight binding.
