The Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi - Glory and Destruction

100 pages; 69 color photographs; drawings and floor-plan diagrams. The earthquake of September 26, 1997, which caused devastating damage to the Basilica. The photographer, Ghigo Roli was completing photographing the interior of the Upper Basilica when the earthquake struck once, then again, then again. The third tremor brought down a main vault and destroyed other frescoes. Roli's diary of the tremors is printed.
